Nemo Nonnenmacher

Nemo Nonnenmacher is a German artist based between the UK and Greece. He uses photography, digital sculpture, VR and installation to explore how contemporary technologies affect our cultural identity, exploring notions around the material of a virtual body, investigating a “digital texture”. Initiating a discourse about the significance of the digital works and its implications for the understanding of the concept of our bodies, Nemo strives to propose a new politics of the image by merging the body with the phenomenon of 3D scanning.

He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2017 and went on to become Associate Director of artist-led Unit 1 Gallery between 2018-21. His work has been exhibited throughout the UK, Germany and Italy. He has been shortlisted for the Tiffany & Co Outset Studiomakers prize 2017, selected for the Travers Smith CSR Art Programme and Metro Imaging Award 2017 and has been a fellow of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation since 2012.
