SUSIE OLCZAK 'Refracted, Submerged Neon'

Neon, Perspex and Water

15cm x 20cm x 6cm

Susie gother inspiration for this peice from the scientfici theories of refraction. Made from perspex and neon, the neon has a colour change and is bent half way down. It gives the illusion that the neon's colour and form as both chnaged by the submersion into the liquid.

The work also has an inherent feelig of tension to it as you see electrical wires being submerged into water, something most people try to avoid.
